So far our summer has been so much fun and slipping away quickly. Kate is now 11.5 weeks and getting so big!
As far as I can tell, today, her eyes are hazel and her hair is strawberry blond. I'm not sure how they will change but right now, combined with her gorgeous skin she is looking like a little peach!
She is now sleeping about 10 hours at night and starting to stretch out (most of) her feedings to every 3 hours. She is sometimes taking an hour to finish a bottle so I am thinking we might need to switch to larger bottle openings.
She loves to be talked to face to face and will talk back like she has a story to tell! We love this sound she makes that sounds exactly like an airy singsong "HI". She smiles all the time, at her toys, at her fists, even when she is in the middle of eating. We love to make her laugh and live for the moments she lets out a happy squeal! Joy. Every now and then she will just let out this loud yell, like she is seeing what other sounds she can make, it just cracks us all up.
She is now grasping at anything that is near her, like her bib, her dress or the clothes of whoever is holding her. She will then pull what ever is in her hand toward her mouth. Last week we were pushing her in the stroller though the mall and noticed she had her dress pulled up and was showing everyone her belly!
She really loves her fists now too. She has never once tried to suck her thumb or fingers until recently, but now its her whole fist. She just brings it up to her mouth and starts chewing! so funny.
Last night we had her on her play mat and were trying to get her to roll over from her back to her side. I had noticed earlier in the day she was using her foot to dig into the floor to turn to see something next to her. She couldn't roll on her own but loved when we pulled her over and let her play on her side for a while, then we would roll her back and start the whole game over again. She also spent the most time playing on her tummy last night than any other time. Maybe a few minutes. Usually she will cry, withing a few seconds of being on her belly, even using a small boppy. But last night she looked at the lamb on her mat for a while before she got fussy.
So as you can see my boys are back home, and I am getting some rest! We are just really enjoying watching Kate grow. She surprises us every day!
